Tree Thanks

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here again today and I've used some great stamps from the store to create my card, combining both new and old stamps.

I began by inking the Silhouette Pines with several shades of green inks, then inking the ground in several shades of brown ink.  This stamp is 5" x 3 3/4", and while a wonderful size, I wanted it smaller to fit my card.  Using Spellbinders dies, I die cut it to fit my card making sure to keep some of the ground intact.

The card was created from green cardstock and a panel of striped paper was added on top.  After adding a 1" strip across the center of the card, I wrapped twine around the panel.  I matted the image with kraft cardstock and added it to the card with foam adhesives.

Thanks is from Sentiments 1 - a sheet of 29 words for all occasions.

Thanks for stopping by.

Evergreen Joy

Today I was really inspired by a gold glitter tree line die-cut that I found in my embellishments  and I knew that the perfect stamp would be the Joy Evergreen one from Just For Fun.

Now this stamp is a double sided stamp that I picked out because of all of the possibilities that the solid evergreen stamp has, well wouldn't you know that I was actually inspired by the inside/wording layer.

Here are what both sides of that stamp look like.

They would be spectacular paired up together or as independent stamps like I have done.

I paired this stamp with some "Silver and Gold" paper and some matching stickers. I thought those tree stickers fit that stamp perfectly. I also inked around the top layer to help that stamped image stand out. My papers were layered off center to give the card more character.

Thanks for stopping in today.

I Still Fall For You

27 years and counting...

JFF Rubber Stamps Couple Under Light Post

I created the "stormy" background using my neglected alcohol inks on glossy card stock. I also changed the color of the heart charm with gold alcohol ink to match the embossed sentiment. I couldn't find exactly the sentiment I wanted, so I just made one in Photoshop Elements. I printed it out and traced onto a piece of vellum with an embossing pen, and heat set with gold embossing powder. I added some Diamond Stickles for sparkle.

There's still time to join our monthly challenge on the Just For Fun Rubber Stamps blog!

Fall Camping Card

Hello from design team member, Heidi!  I hope you are having a great day! Have you checked out our November Monthly challenge.  The theme is Travel/Thanksgiving/Family and I have a card to share for the challenge today.

I made this card for a camping enthusiast, so I knew he would love the Framed Maple Leaf stamp (also in the Flora and Fauna Unmounted stamp set, which is such a great set).  I pulled the turquoise color from the patterned paper I was using and simply stamped the leaf in brown.  Simple to make, but I find it very effective to stamp on colored cardstock.

Don’t forget that there is a random prize draw for the challenge!  If you have JFF stamps, we would love to see you use them, but it is not mandatory, and maybe you will be the winner!

Hope you will make time for stamping today!  Thanks for stopping by!

Evergreen Shaker Card....

Good day JFF fans, today I am sharing a simple shaker card in honor of winter . It has already snowed up here in Minnesota so I guess winter is officially here to stay.
Here is my make...
This fun stampis called Fir Trees and can be found HERE in the shop. I stamped the image in black and used a green spray mist for the background color. I added round glitter for the shaker snow.

Birdie Birthday

Hello from design team member, Heidi! I used the Stamptangle Chickadee stamp and this very pretty scripty Happy Birthday sentiment on my card today.

Let me explain how I did the background.  First, I stenciled three colors of Distress Inks onto regular white cardstock.  With the stencil still in place, I then spread flexible modeling paste over top of the inking.  Then I removed the stencil.  As it dries, it gives the look that I colored the pastes, but this method is SO much simpler!

I am so glad you stopped by to visit us today!  Please drop us a comment letting us know you were here.  I do hope you will having some time for stamping today.  Have a good one!

Harvest Bounty

Thanksgiving seems to get lost between Halloween and Christmas, but it is one of my favorite holidays.  It is that time when you stop and remind yourself of all those things in your life that you are thankful for.

The Cornucopia, also referred to as the Horn of Plenty, symbolizes to me just how blessed I am so I love to use it on my Thanksgiving cards.   This new image I used is named Harvest Bounty.

It was colored with Tombow markers and parts of a second image were popped up on top to provide some dimension.  The background paper is from Bo Bunny's Farmers' Market.

I hope this card and post reminds you how blessed you are and that we are thankful for each one of you.

Happy Thanksgiving

Hi! It is designer April here today from Stampwilly Designs. I hope you are enjoying the Fall season as much as I am. I want to show you a card I made using several old and new stamps here from Just for Fun.

I used new stamps Cluster of Stalks  and Tiny Flying Birds.  I stamped the older Stamptangle Pumpkin Lg.  on orange card stock and embossed with brown embossing powder. I fussy cut it and popdotted it onto the card. The two birds is an older stamp, Pair of Birds. The saying is from the Sentiment 1 stamp sheet.

To make the background I washed watercolors on watercolor paper, crinkled some saran wrap and laid it on the wet card until it dried. I pulled off the saran wrap and it gave a tie dye pattern.

Please join us in this month's challenge. You do not need to use a Just For Fun stamp, but we would love it if you could. We would love to see your wonderful creations. You might also win a gift certificate to the store!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Thanksgiving

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here again today and I've used some great stamps from the store to create my card.   With Thanksgiving on the horizon, I've created a new Thanksgiving card.

I stamped the Harvest Bounty image on white cardstock and colored it with Copic Markers.  I selected a square card and created layers with cardstock.

Orange and green cardstock were perfect for this time of year, coordinating with the stamped image.

Happy Thanksgiving was stamped on white cardstock, die cut and matted with orange cardstock.  It was then placed on the card with foam adhesives for dimension.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Note Card or Tag

Today I have a project that is perfect for the upcoming holiday season because it can be used for so many different things and the theme could easily be adjusted. One of my family members LOVES for me to make her a bunch of tags that she can use for various things around the holidays, and when I say a bunch I mean like hundreds! She uses them for presents, for food baskets, for little friendly notes, for EVERYTHING!!

So I set out and started playing around with my Just For Fun stamps. She wanted the tags to be somewhat flat so die-cuts were simply not going to work. She also mentioned that she has some homemade goodies that she wanted to attach the tags to so she could hand them out as presents and perhaps pass along some recipes.

For this super fun super small sized tag I went ahead and cut a card base out at 3" x 6" then I scored and folded in the middle. Since I was using a black card base I decided to cut a smaller white layer for the inside of the card. This area works well for a small recipe or a note.

The mason jar stamp is spectacular and can be found here and the best news is that JFF offers this stamp in small and large!! Sorry for the excitement but I really do love this stamp. Anyway, I paired the Jar stamp with a really friendly, elegant, and smaller "Hello" sentiment stamp, also from JFF and can be found here.

To finish up this tag/card I decided to grab some black and white twine from my stash and wrap it around the top of the jar stamp. I then attached a button with a glue dot and placed the image onto the black card base. I think that the neutral colors pair up so perfectly with that rustic jar stamp and can't wait to make a million of these little guys.

I love how this project came out, aside from using two of my favorite stamps, the project is adorable, rustic, and can be easily duplicated to any size event.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Always Thankful

My post today was inspired by this quote...

I typed up this short version to add to my card using Photoshop Elements and printed on white card stock.

Love ya Like a Sister (BOLD) and Homemade Apple fonts.

Don't you love this gate fold design?

There's plenty of room on the inside panel to write a short note.

Happy Halloween!

Hi from designer April! Halloween is almost here. Are you getting ready for those trick-or-treaters? I must say I miss the kids coming by. We live in a cul-de-sac and we don't get any kids in our neighborhood. Here is a Halloween card I made using our brand new stamps!

I made a bokeh background for this card by sponging on several colors of Distress inks, then laying a circle stencil on top and sponging on white pigment ink. I used the CJ-Canning Jar Wire Handle for my cauldron! When I first got my new stamps I immediately thought this was a cauldron but soon found out that it wasn't! I think it makes a good cauldron anyway! LOL! I stamped it and colored it in using a Sharpie marker. I found some green Liquid Applique to add to the pot and I then added some clear Stickles glitter over it. The Witch Silhouette, Large was stamped in black beside the pot.

I hope you all have a very Happy Halloween!
